Oops, I disappeared for a while there, didn't I? I fear I was lost in crochet blankie land. You see, the room where I store my yarn and many of my patterns has a mouse problem. On my way down to see whether the room was tidy enough to be accessible to the exterminator dude (it wasn't and never will be), I happened upon a crochet baby blanket booklet. And I'm not exactly sure how it happened but somehow a bunch of squares got crocheted and now I'm sitting in a sea of them. I think I have completed 35 of 63. A mathematician might assume that I'm more than half done, but said mathematician might not understand how progress slows somewhere around the halfway point. I'd give it another six months.

I'm still working on the beloved sock pictured below though. Oh, I must brag, if I may! I decided to throw caution to the wind and try a different heel from my tried and true gusset version. I had done a short row heel once previously with moderate success -- the heel is functional but it doesn't look pretty. This time I figured out that I had been picking up the wraps incorrectly and I'll be darned if it doesn't look approximately right!
