plain ol' socks

\

Another unfinished object has lost its un. This was one of many leftovers from last summer. Next I'm going to strip the un off the unfinished Adamas shawl I started for my daughter way back when. The yarn is Arequipa.

I have a few dilemmas when it comes to shawls. I have several incomplete and for each of them there is a reason I don't want to pick it up. My biggest problem is the anniversary/Mandala shawl from last year. I made a mistake on the edging, ripped it, and while trying to correct the error made another mistake in picking up the live body stitches, leaving a small hole between the edging and the body. Now I'm afraid to rip it again for fear of losing those live stitches and making it even worse. My current plan is to wait until the weather warms up enough to take it out into the bright sunlight and work it out slowly and carefully. The huge advantage to this plan is that the weather likely won't be suitable for a few weeks yet and I can justify putting it out of my mind. Works for me.
