FO pictures! No, really!

The Andean chullo hat from Knit Picks...

I suck at icord edges. This one is flipping up. A bit o'blocking would probably help but so far I haven't bothered.

And then we have the mitts that came with one of the Knit Picks sampler kits...

I really truly hate the colour. But if I were a decent photographer you could see that I made the tassels on the hat almost match the mitts, which lends them a certain dignity if not beauty. I have already worn this ensemble while cleaning up dog poo in the back yard. Yes, it's a glamorous life I lead.

The point of all this sampler stuff is to try out the yarn, isn't it? I have to say that I am a fan of the Swish worsted used in the mitts. I haven't washed it yet (blocking? what IS this blocking you speak of?) but so far I would certainly consider it a contender for a larger project. The hat uses Palette, which I found quite serviceable but a tad scratchy. The hat kit comes with so much yarn that I have plenty left for other projects, and I know it's going to get used up eventually.

In current knitting, I have started the second Arequipa sock. It would be lovely if I could finish it before my sock yarn samplers arrive. I'll try to make some progress during day 3 of our gymnastics meet tomorrow.
