It looks like I'm off the hook with regard to knitting two more preemie hats, as the first one I completed is in an Unacceptable Colour. Yes, our local hospitals no longer accept yellow for sick babies because green and yellow apparently make sick babies look sicker. I am going to abandon preemie hat #2 (which has abruptly become preemie hat #1) and find something more interesting to work on. Eventually I'll find someone, somewhere, who can use my growing collection of Unacceptable Hats. I think I have about eight now, one in an Unacceptable Colour and several in sport weight yarn, which was outlawed a few months ago, as well as one pair of preemie booties. I can't recall what their problem is but the fact that I tossed them in with the Unacceptable Hats indicates that there is something disreputable about them.
This is quickly becoming a habit for me: immediately after I finish a project there will be an announcement that such projects are No Longer Acceptable. I think I'm discovering that Unacceptable Knitting is my forte.
I am slightly frustrated.
