I had a minor panic attack last night. I was reclining on my bed and I noticed how my shelf full of pattern books is bowing in the middle. It made me realize how many projects I have been meaning to get to but probably never will. Why? Because I'm still knitting the sodding hood of the blasted Wallaby and have about 150 UFOs to finish once that's done. My 13-year-old offered to upgrade her knitting skills in order to help me make a dent in the pile but that, while a sweet offer, really does not address my situation. I am not encouraged by the fact that she has yet to finish a project of her own.
I'm doing the Wallaby hood in garter stitch so it's quite mindless. What I need to do is sit down with a good book and finish that sucker off.
Have I mentioned that we're going to Walt Disney World in May? I know there will be some poolside knitting happening there and I need to get some unfinished junk out of my way before we go. I want to have an official vacation project and not feel any guilt for not working on something else.
