the tent sale haul

First, I must emphasize that the Spinrite tent sale is no place for a yarn snob. If you are offended by synthetic fibres or floofy novelty junk, you will want to give this event a wide berth and it might be wise to navigate away from this page immediately if you're particularly sensitive.

I, however, am proud to call myself Knitting Trash. While I appreciate good yarn and do make an effort to stash and knit with it, I can also get quite giddy over a tent full of acrylic. And here is the happy result.

That heap, my friends, represents $134 worth of the husband's hard-earned money, tax included. Which is, in my opinion, pretty darn good.

I took full advantage of the buy-three-get-one-free deal this time, getting four bags of every yarn but one. I snagged four big balls of Bernat Camouflage to make younger daughter a Wallaby. Four bags (12 balls total) of Bernat Bamboo. Four bags (40 balls total) of Patons Divine. Four bags (40 balls total) of Patons Decor. Four bags (12 balls total) of self-striping Baby Boucle. And one lonely bag (8 balls) of unlabelled Patons Stretch Socks. That, according to my calculations, amounts to 116 balls of yarn for a pretty amazing price. Yes, I had scads of fun.

And if anyone remembers my haul from a couple of years back and wonders what became of it, I reply with a blank face that it is still in the basement. Don't tell the husband.
